Daryl Toby, principal of AguaFina recently attended the 46th IFLA World Congress. Held in Rio de Janeiro from October 20th -24th, the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) World Congress focused on green infrastructure changes and sustainability issues within the landscape design and planning community. The program also included visits to various locations such as the Rio Botanical Gardens and the studio of modernist landscape architect Roberto Burle Max (1909-1994). “This was the first time in many years that I have returned to Brazil and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet so many dedicated and talented professionals in our field not only Brazil, but from around the world. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend and look forward to staying in contact with many of the people I met during the conference.”
